PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Senior Compliance Counsel is responsible for assisting Chief Compliance Officer in developing and
implementing GE’s overall compliance strategy and programs in Greater China,
including working with business legal/compliance leaders, controllership and
other functions at Global Growth & Operations, Corporate and individual
business units in Greater China to identify compliance risks and provide
solutions, developing and enhancing compliance programs, and working closely
with other regional and global compliance leaders of GE to
coordinate Greater China compliance activities. Serving as Ombuds Leader and leading or
assisting with investigations in the region.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(RESPONSIBILITIES):
The Senior Compliance Counsel will work closely with Chief Compliance Officer on all compliance
activities for GE across Greater China region, including for example:

Providing visible strong
compliance leadership for GE China GGO, including working with compliance leaders throughout
GE in China to develop an effective sustainable compliance program (e.g.,
policy and procedures implementation, Ombuds/open reporting, third party
due diligence and approvals, regulatory & compliance councils, etc.)
tailored to the specific risk profile of GE in China.

Serving as Ombuds
leader for GE Greater China. Leading
the Spirit & Letter program and other programs, including leading or assisting the annual China Compliance Operating Review and any compliance
councils with ownership for the Ombuds/open reporting program and driving
a strong culture of compliance.

Implementing the strategy and framework of effective
annual employee training, including for example new hires, training for
leaders, and training for employees whose job responsibilities require specialized
training. Design and conduct communication and training programs to drive employee
awareness about their integrity obligations.

Ensuring rigorous programs to identify, manage
and abate key risks, including:
Improper Payments - ensuring a rigorous process in
all GE business units in China on third party diligence and monitoring, gifts
and entertainment, certifications;
Working with Governments – ensuring a rigorous
process in all GE business units in China on government sales, interactions with
government officials and employees, bidding on government-sponsored projects;
and
Collecting and reporting on information about risk
areas: e.g. early warning system, metrics, audit results.

Leading or assisting with investigations as
required.

Partnering with Corporate Compliance and
Region Compliance Leaders to drive initiatives and provide critical input
into regional processes.

Periodically assessing the effectiveness of
the compliance and integrity programs in China.

Working with China legal
counsels and compliance leaders in GE to ensure robust regulatory compliance
programs.

Executing special projects
as needed, including development of new compliance tools/programs to address
business needs and emerging risks.

Other projects and tasks as
assigned by the manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience
·
Compliance,
Legal, CAS or internal audit experience with a strong interest in compliance
·
Experience in designing
and implementing compliance programs
·
Proven project
management capability
·
Experience in
developing and personally delivering compliance training
·
Experience
managing Regulatory relationships an advantage
Technical
Knowledge
